Using mySRD
How do I check my status?
Open the Status Check page, type your 13-digit South African ID number and the 10-digit cellphone number you registered with SASSA, then tap Check Status. The result appears on the same page within a few seconds.
It says “Record not found”. What now?
Nine times out of ten this means the cellphone number you typed is not the one SASSA has on file. People often apply with one number and then swap SIMs, port to another network, or change phones and forget. Try any older number you used around the time of your application.
If you are sure the number is correct, the SRD database may genuinely have nothing under that ID. For example, if you have never applied, or if your application was rejected at the very first step before being added.
My application is approved but no payment date is showing.
Approved does not always mean money is on the way today. SASSA pays SRD in monthly cycles and a payday only appears once they have scheduled the payout for that month. If you are still early in the month, check again in a week.
My status changed since last time. Why?
SRD is reassessed every single month. An approval one month does not lock in the next month, and a decline can flip back to approved if your circumstances change. mySRD always shows you the latest status SASSA has on the day you check.
I forgot which phone number I registered with SASSA.
We cannot help you with this from our side. We never see what number SASSA has on file. The fastest way to recover it is to phone the SASSA helpline on 0800 60 10 11 with your ID ready, or visit your nearest SASSA branch.
About your data
Do you store my ID or phone number?
No. We do not run a database of users. The values you type are sent to the lookup, the answer comes back, and that is the end of it. There is no profile, no account and no record of you on our side.
Is the connection secure?
Yes. mysrd.co.za is served over HTTPS and the call to the lookup API is also HTTPS. As a general rule, never type your ID number into a site that does not have a padlock in the address bar.
Do you sell ads or share data with anyone?
No. mySRD does not carry advertising and we do not sell or share any data. If that ever changes, this page will say so before it happens.
What the outcomes mean
- Approved. SASSA has accepted your application for that month. A payday will appear here once it has been scheduled.
- Pending. SASSA has not finished checking your application for that month. Check again in a few days.
- Declined. SASSA rejected the application for that month. The reason (for example “alternative income source identified” or “identity verification failed”) will be shown next to it.
- Paid. The payment was released for that month. Note that “released” is not the same as “already in your hand”: cash-send and Postbank withdrawals can take a day or two more.
Still stuck?
Email support@mysrd.co.za with a short description of the problem. Please do not send your full ID number in the email. The last 6 digits is enough if we need to look something up.
We are a small team, so allow one or two working days for a reply.
